Welcome to the Lune Synth blog

This is where we'll write about what we're building, why, and what we're learning along the way. Here's the short version of both the product and the plan.

An open book and a handwritten notebook on a desk

Most study tools optimize for the answer. Type a question, get a response, move on. That's fine until the goal is actually learning something — because the part that builds understanding is the work in between, and that's exactly the part those tools skip.

Lune Synth™ is the opposite bet. Do the work by hand, scan it in, and get feedback on your reasoning — the steps, the missteps, and the specific place a proof or a derivation went sideways. We call it the anti-slop learning app because it grades the thing you actually did, not a clean answer you could have copied.

What we're building

The loop is simple on the surface and hard underneath:

  • Do the work. Pencil and paper, whiteboard, tablet — however you think best.
  • Scan it in. Handwriting, typed answers, or spoken explanations all count.
  • Get feedback that helps. Rigorous, rubric-based grading that points at the exact step, not a vague score.
  • Practice what's weak. Targeted missions and quizzes built from where you actually struggled.

It's built for the full range of learners — from the Pre-K through the PhD level — and it's designed to be honest about what you know instead of flattering about it.

What you'll read here

This blog is our working notebook. Expect posts on:

  • Product updates and new features as the beta grows.
  • The learning science behind why handwritten, self-generated work sticks.
  • How we grade — rubrics, review, and the guardrails that keep feedback rigorous.
  • Occasional field notes from teaching, testing, and getting things wrong.
The goal isn't to make studying feel easy. It's to make the effort count.
